Blackmore is a small historic village with a priory church dating back to 1114.
Blackmore is classified as a class 3 village. Yet the services cannot be compared with other large villages in the area that have a parade of shops, far more houses, better road links and closer to town and rail stations. Blackmore should be classified as a class 4 village.

- Blackmore, when compared with, e.g: Doddinghurst; Kelvedon Hatch; Herongate & lngrave (which is a single conurbation); and Mountnessing, is quite distinct and different
- It's size, facilities (centre), resources (notably shopping), roads and connectivity with the rest of the Borough and beyond, underline this point
• The 'Office for National Statistics' definitions are sound, whereas the LDP categories are not positively prepared, rather they are an attempt at a retro-fit to justify the inclusion of R25 and R26.

There are larger villages surrounding Blackmore with far better infrastructure already in place to cope with the demands that so many extra homes would create. Better roads / access to better roads links, better shopping facilities / parades of shops etc. There are areas within the borough that are far more suited and sustainable.

How can Blackmore be classified as a class 3 village the same as Doddinghurst. In Blackmore we have 1 shop, a tea room, hairdressers part time, Doddinghurst/Mountnessing/Kelvedon Hatch all have a parade of shops more dwellings, better road links, are closer to towns and stations. Blackmore needs to be reclassified to class 4.

Blackmore school is already oversubscribed, adding more houses will then mean our village school will need to grow. Taking the beauty away from it being a village school.
Blackmore is a small village that is already quiet congested with parked cars, building more houses is only going to add to the congestion. Losing those two fields to houses also means losing the wildlife habitat. Blackmore school is already oversubscribed, adding more houses will then mean our village school will need to grow. Taking the beauty away from it being a village school. Flooding has always been an issue with Blackmore removing two large fields will make the situation worse.

The most desirable wildlife will be diminished. Sadly we now only have one shop whereas other local locations have far more shops and other facilities better road links and are closer to transport links and major shopping facilities. With more fields concentrate, Blackmore will be even more subject to flooding. I don't think enough thought has gone into this planning and the subsequent outcome should the development go ahead would be very regrettable.
Blackmore is a fairly remote village with minor road connections. A car is essential. With more local traffic Blackmore will become even more congested and far more dangerous. Pollution level will increase which will be very undesirable. The most desirable wildlife will be diminished. Sadly we now only have one shop whereas other local locations have far more shops and other facilities better road links and are closer to transport links and major shopping facilities. With more fields concentrate, Blackmore will be even more subject to flooding.
