Local Plan 2015-2030 Preferred Options for Consultation

Ended on the 3 October 2013

Foreword

Brentwood’s population is growing. A key challenge is how to provide the homes and jobs people need and encourage business investment, while safeguarding the high quality of life and environment the Borough offers, both for existing and future generations to enjoy.

This plan sets out the Council’s vision for the future of the Borough and contains polices to deliver that vision. The present document is a draft version of the plan and we would like you to tell us what you think. Have we got it right? Do you have any suggestions on how we could improve the plan?

The Plan aims to ensure development happens in the right place, where it can do most good and least harm, with good access to facilities, such as healthcare, parks, schools, shops and public transport. The Plan aims to ensure the historic and natural environment are protected and wherever possible enhanced and that new development is well designed, locally distinctive and responsive to local needs.

Consultation on the Local Plan runs for 10 weeks from 24 July to 2 October. We encourage as many people as possible to respond. Following the close of consultation the Council will consider all comments received and in light of these prepare a submission Local Plan for consideration by a Planning Inspector.

Should you have any questions, please get in touch with our planning team on 01277 312620 or e mail planning.policy@brentwood.gov.uk, who will be pleased to help.
