Representation Summary:

- Garages adjacent to Lavender Ave are actually in Wistaria Close NOT next to Lavender Avenue.
- We bought our house because it had a garage, parking space and private road for parking. Taking this away will devalue our property. Are you willing to reimburse residents?
- We will have no where to park.
- Lavender Avenue, the road leading to Wistaria Close is already very congested.

EMAIL RECEIVED BEFORE CONSULTATION:
"I send an email expressing my annoyance at seeing garages (of which one belongs to myself and husband) put forward for future planning without consultation to the owners. I am sure you are aware there are nine garages and to see in print proposals for development on this plot without consultation to the owners was a shock to say the least."

COMMENT FORM RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO CONSULTATION:
"Firstly the garages adjacent to Lavender Ave are actually in Wistaria Close NOT next to Lavender Ave but running in line with Wistaria Close, which begs the question - Did your surveyor know what garages he was talking about (There are garages at the top of Lavender Ave), because the council i.e. tax payers money paid this person to get it wrong and no one checked it.

Secondly, we bought our house 2 years ago because it had a garage, parking space and private road for parking - OUR PRIVATE ROAD - not just a garage. Taking this away will devalue our property. Are you willing to give approximately £70k for this?

Thirdly, we will have no where to park (We have 2 cars) our neighbours in the close will have no where to park and furthermore where will your 13 houses park their cars if we can't.

Lavender Avenue, the road leading to Wistaria Close is already a very congested Road - in fact at times emergency vehicles would have problems getting through and this is where we will all be pushed into parking.

Please take these garages off your proposed plans for Brentwood - save the tax payers a lot of money - The residents a lot of hardship and look at your council garages that you already own!"

The land and garages adjacent to 49 Lavender Avenue are all owned privately by the owners of Wisteria Close

The access at the front will only permit 1 vehicle. Lavender Close is very congested. We do not even begin to visualize 15 dwellings on this area.

Totally against the idea. GARAGES AND PRIVATE LAND ARE ALL BELONGING TO US

PS There is a gap with free off green lane at back of meadow view that would perhaps be considered waste land at present.

- The loss of these garages would put pressure on residents as there will be nowhere to park for cars owners in Wistaria Close.

- If we were to have our garages demolished then the re-sale value of our property would, I believe, be decreased.

- Squeezing 15 homes/flats into a small area like that is not going to make any difference in the long term. There are many other sites to build on.

- Nobody has knocked on any of our doors as far as I know and it seems to me that an outside agency has proposed this

I first found out about the proposal to use our garages (our property) next to Wistaria Close in the local paper, pointed out to me by a neighbor. At first it felt like a bad joke. I then telephoned the Council Planning Department where a gentleman told me they were "Council garages", I told his they were owned and went with the house in Wistaria Close.

As far as taking away our parking facilities, if this were to go ahead there would be nowhere to park for all the cars of the owners in Wistaria Close, it is sometimes difficult to park as it is, this doesn't include visitors, Workmen etc.

All of the Flowers Estate houses have garages. The semi-detached houses have their garages on the premises. When we bought our house and garage in 1996 we certainly did not envisage such a proposal happening in our quite cul-de-sac. If we were to have our garages demolished then the resale value of our property would, I believe, be decreased.

I can't begin to imagine how my neighbors would feel at number 1 Wistaria Close, they would be living on a building site, with lorries and noise, in fact we would all be subject to all of this inconvenience.

I can't see how squeezing 15 homes (flats I presume) into a small area like that is going to make any difference in the long term. There are many other areas to build on. Why have we been singled out? Also where would these new flat owners (I presume it would not be social housing?) park their cars?

Please discard this proposal, nobody has even knocked on any of our doors as far as I know and it seems to me that an outside agency has proposed this as anyone with local knowledge would have realized that these GARAGES are PRIVATE, please leave them alone and let us get on with our lives.

This has caused us all a lot of anxiety over the last few weeks and I hope the objection of our local neighbors will bring it to an end.

Representation Summary:

The garages you propose to demolish and build houses on are our garages and are on private land.

If you bought the garages and land off us we would not have enough parking spaces per house as all the houses are 3 bedrooms and I am led to believe we are supposed to have at least 2 parking spaces each.

How is it possible to fit in 15 dwellings unless they are flats and again there would not be enough parking spaces. If flats the people at No.1 would end up with restricted views and light.

I live in Wistaria Close and the garages that you propose to break down and build houses on are our garages and are on private land. If you bought the garages and land off us then we would not have enough parking spaces per house as all the houses are 3 bedroom and I am led to believe we are supposed to have at least 2 parking spaces each. Plus some people in the road have 4 cars, where are they to park? Plus these houses would not have enough parking spaces. It is bad enough now. So I strongly object to this proposal. I live the furthest away from the garages so I would not have to put up with so much inconvenience while they were being built other than the roads are so clogged up with cars already I don't see how it will be possible o even build them.

When we bought the house 27 years ago no one ever said they were not ours. The council has never maintained then other than cut the small piece of grass on every corner.

I also don't see how it is possible to fit in 15 dwellings unless it is flats and again there would not be enough parking spaces. And If it is flats the people at No.1 would end up with restricted views and light.

With reference to the development plans for Brentwood, specifically that affecting the land/garages adjacent to 49 Lavender Avenue and 1 Wistaria Close, I am writing to strongly post my objections to the use of this land.
It is outrageous to learn of the proposed use of the privately owned land belonging to the residents of Wistaria Close. Reasons for refusal:

- Loss of property value
- Loss of use of garages for parking
- The loss of lifestyle the property/residents currently hold

With reference to the development plans for Brentwood, specifically that affecting the land/garages adjacent to 49 Lavender Avenue and 1 Wistaria Close, I am writing to strongly post my objections to the use of this land.

To be frank, I am outraged to learn of the proposed use of the privately owned land belonging to the residents of Wistaria Close and would be a major consideration for me to move from the area in search of a new property with the same benefits that currently exist without the additional proposed developments.
I moved into Brentwood in February 2010, purchasing number 3 Wistaria Close with the benefits of the close being a property with limited passing traffic, open views from the rear into the adjacent fields , off street parking with the garage with connecting driveway and rear access to the property via the connecting gate from the garage area. Implementing the proposed plans in my opinion completely loses the benefits I chose and is the bases of my objections.

My other considerations for objections are from a financial point of view and strongly feel that the development will have a direct impact to the value of my property that from a future planning point of view would limit the options for moving within the Brentwood area. I have worked extremely hard to be on the property ladder and the devaluation the property is completely demoralising.
It would sadden me to be in this position of considering such major response to the development, as the nature of the relationship with the residence is good and would be a depressing disruption to my current plans to be settled in Wistaria close until my needs change.

The acceptance to use our land and the Brentwood council to continue to sponsor the proposal puts a massive question mark on what the focus the council has on the quality of living for the current Brentwood residents and feel the focus is purely on responding to the government's request for squeezing more buildings into the area.

From my point of view and that of the residence of Wistaria, the development holds no benefit or improvement to the current situation and would seek compensation for both the loss of the garage area/parking, value of the property and more importantly the loss of lifestyle the property currently holds, but ideally I would like to seek and see the objection for the use of this land being accepted.
