Representation Summary:

With the additional residents how will the already overcrowded schools cope?

Full text:

I am surprised it is necessary for more letters of protest to be written but it seems that you still have not accepted the stupidity and lack of common sense behind the proposals for development at Priests Lane.
By allowing 95 new homes to be built on the site some additional 130-180 vehicles will need to be parked and will add to the already overcrowded roads in the Priests Lane area. The junction of Ingrave Road and Middleton Hall Lane is already overstretched at peak times and extra vehicles will make the junction unbearable.
There was an accident in Shenfield Crescent last week due to the heavy traffic collecting children from school, and more accidents can be expected putting the children's safety at risk.
On 5th March an emergency ambulance was called for a resident in Shenfield Crescent arriving at 3PM. Valuable time was lost as the ambulance was unable to leave for hospital because the road was totally blocked with school traffic.
With the additional residents how will the already overcrowded doctors surgeries and schools cope?
Surely by now you can see the stupidity of allowing further development in this area and reject this application?

Representation Summary:

Detrimental impact on local residents. Access road would join Priests Lane at hazardous points. St Andrews Place and Bishop Walk both have restricted views of traffic. Road is already over capacity wit congestion at peak times and speeding at other times. Difficult and dangerous for current resident to use their driveways. Accidents are unreported unless injury occurs. There are pinch points. Lack of pavements on both sides. More homes will exacerbate these issues.

The petition was against building on these sites, There were 85 residents at the meeting and 20 who could not gain entrance. The Priests Lane Neighbourhood Residents Association has over 80 households on the mailing list such is the strength of concern and objection.

2 There is no glossary of terms (eg C2C facilities, page 30, Employment site?)
3 Generally I support the plan with a few observations/provisos
Site 178 I object unless it will be used to expand /provide facilities for the Endeavor school and or Hogarth Primary school.
Site 102 - masterplan should include common/community spaces, not just dwellings, shops and car park.
site 037 should e reduced to preserve the LoWS or plan around it.

Representation Summary:

I object to this planning application because it is unsafe. The site is inappropriate it is at the back of our garden, My objection is our garden flood every time we have a period of rain. We are told nothing can be done as the drainage etc is so very old. Drains in the road at the front in Priests Lane regularly overflow, creating plains of water.

We are told nothing can be done as the drainage etc is so very old. Drains in the road at the front in Priests Lane regularly overflow, creating plains of water.
This afternoon at 3.45 the traffic trying to exit the top of Priests Lane was queueing down to Glanthans Road, all because of excessive traffic from Brentwood School. Every morning it is the same or worse with cars mounting the pavements trying to turn around. With more housing this will only become worse, It is unsafe walking along Priests Lane the traffic when allowed drive too fast and almost touches you. The road is narrow and only one footpath one side of the road. With more people moving in there will be more cars, more traffic more children walking along a very dangerous road. Without all the necessary infrastructure needed. It is already chaos living here.
Whilst I do not object to houses being built. Goodness knows we need them but they should be built on areas that can cope.
There is no infrastructure for all these houses, even the roads are unsuitable. Down right dangerous. I live in fear waling up Priests Lane with my grandchildren. The traffic is dangerous so close to a narrow path on a very narrow road.
We don't even have any signs up regarding "30" mph speed limit.
You would be surprised at how many drivers do not even know it is "30"mph speed limit, nor do they care.

The road is narrow, does not have pavements on both sides, has congestion due to the school run and this is dangerous for pedestrians. More homes will exacerbate this. When its not busy, cars drive too fast, seemingly not knowing that it is a 30mph speed limit.

Representation Summary:

This is the only green field site in the plan, it will increase the amount of traffic significantly on surrounding roads at peak times. In the case of at the top of Priests Lane/Middleton Hall Lane it is beyond maximum at peak times. The addition of 95 houses will mean the possibility of at least 200 vehicles. Local schools and surgeries are already pushed to cope with the number they have, how can they cope with the additional demand.

90 units is too many - look at the successful existing developments such as Shenfield Place, St Andrew's Place etc have plenty of space, parking, and are not plagued with parking issues. 30 units would deliver a similar success. Sites should be planned to create communities and not to return 30% margins to developers.

Representation Summary:

Priests Lane is a major route connecting Shenfield to Brentwood and vice versa. It serves to connect to the A127/A128/A12 and M25. It is a lane with narrow pavements which are in undulated form an are a danger to health and safety. Priests Lane is not suitable to serve increased traffic levels that come with additional development on site 044/178. Priests Lane will need to take increase traffic coming from other Brentwood Developments and Officers Meadow. To build on sites 044/178 will be unsatisfactory.
