Site Ref: 044 (land at Priests Lane) provides land within the urban area. It's a redundant resource, well located to town centre, available and capable of contributing to housing supply, reducing pressure for Green Belt release. Such land should be considered before consideration of urban edges.
Hierarchical approach should be followed when identifying land:
1. Existing urban areas
2. Developed sites in Green Belt
3. Review of Green Belt boundaries (NPPG paras 84 and 85)
4. Release sites on edge of existing settlements
5. New settlements
Additional land is required as Dunton proposal unlikely to be completed in Plan period.
