Policy R19 provides no benefit for the local community, worsens local traffic significantly, leads to a loss of protected open space and includes no provision for health needs.

9.172 Priests lane access - this is a narrow high traffic route with stationary queueing commonplace at peak times. Additional housing will worsen this significantly and add to pollution and road accident concerns for residents.

9.175 Endeavor expansion - this is a school attracting children from surrounding towns and villages, there is very little if any benefit from its expansion to local residents. The dangerous Hogarth Avenue and Riseway school traffic congestion issues have not been addressed by the council. Twice daily gridlock on these two roads is caused in part by the high number of minibuses bringing children to Endeavour school. Residents and pedestrians including school children are frequently endangered by vehicles mounting and driving on the pavement. The congestion seriously impedes access for ambulances, fire engines, police, community care staff and delivery vehicles for 1-2 hours each school day. Supporting photographs of the traffic and these dangerous issues are attached to this representation.

9.173 There are no connecting cycle routes to the development, Priests Lane is not a safe route on which to introduce additional cycle traffic.
