The proposed construction of 1,000 housing will most certainly be detrimental to the area as it will exponentially increase the amount of traffic and pollution in an area that was not built to sustain such volumes.

For the last several decades, Priests Lane has already been used as a main thoroughfare between Shenfield and Brentwood, something it was simply not designed for. Hundreds of cars are stuck head to tail during every rush hour. The proposed development would add innumerable vehicles to the load, exacerbating the problem significantly.

It is already difficult to drive in and out from St Andrews Place to Priests Lane or cross the road there as there is a blind spot due to the hedges at the sharp bend. Increased traffic would make it even more dangerous.

It should also be noted that the sites in question have already been rejected previously as the spaces were deemed a valuable open urban space.

The plan is simply flawed and the voice of the residents in the area should be heard.

I hope that you take our concerns into consideration and remove this proposal from the Local Development Plan.
