Representation Summary:

These proposals sets a precedent towards the ultimate destruction of all of Brentwood's Greenbelt. Brexit will result in population reduction thus number of homes needed will reduce also. There is sufficient brownfield land to build homes on to meet housing need.

Please register my OBJECTION to this consultations proposals to destroy parts of our greenbelt. These proposals sets a precedent towards the ultimate destruction of all of Brentwood's 2005 Greenbelt with every subsequent Local Plan. Your proposals, given that we are leaving the EU and net migration has seen dramatic falls since June 2016, are already out of date yet you propose even more housing than previous consultation rounds for the proposed Local Plan. This makes absolutely no sense and your proposals are based on pre 2016 out of date studies and estimations. There are plenty of Brownfield sites i.e. the former Toomey's garage site, diagonally opposite to your office, that will more than accommodate the real housing needs for Brentwood residents. Previous Brentwood Council studies estimate that 80% of Brentwood's growth, to 2033, will be from people moving into our borough. It isn't called a 'Local Plan' for nothing so why accommodate alleged from growth outside the borough?
