We have a sufficient drainage infrastructure in place fro existing developments and highways, this is also considered effectively for new development. However, the reason we face flooding problems is that the existing drainage infrastructure is not maintained properly and most gulley's, ditches and culverts are invariably blocked. Even drainage points on main A roads into Brentwood such as A129 Ongar Road are blocked.
