It is a fact that cannot be denied that that the presence of Traveller sites in an area , especially such a high number of sites will have a negative impact on the desirability of any property nearby therefore having an adverse effect on the property sale prices. Obviously this not an aspect that potential developers will be attracted to, quite the opposite they may not wish to build houses with Traveller Sites anywhere near the development. Almost certainly it will also affect the number of potential buyers.
To whom it may concern,
I vigorously object to the revised local 2018 for the following reasons.
The first thing that occurs to me when reading through those parts of the LDP that will impact on West Horndon is the obvious disparity of building new housing on a large scale and at the same time providing Traveller sites not just near to this development but within the same proposed site.
It is a fact that cannot be denied that that the presence of Traveler sites in an area , especially such a high number of sites will have a negative impact on the desirability of any property nearby therefore having an adverse effect on the property sale prices.

I also ask the very obvious question which is why in such a large Borough are so many undesirable developments being directed towards West Horndon ?
We have , possibly, new housing on sites in and around West Horndon that number in the region of 4000 which will bring with them all the associated difficulties
ie.
1/. extra traffic on roads both local and trunk which already suffer from long tailbacks and jams.
2/. more rail journeys on a line that is already overcrowded with the operator not having any plans to increase the capacity.
3/. Extra demands on all emergency services 4/. Greater demand on GPs that are already struggling to cope with demand.
5/. Higher demand for school places at our local school. Our school is at the moment rated as Good, but I fear that if these developments go ahead as planned it will adversely affect the school and it will have a negative affect on educational standards.
I feel that the village of West Horndon in the borough of Brentwood is being unfairly treated in as much as a disproportionate level of development is being proposed here while the rest of the borough gets away with only small developments.
When it comes to investment in areas the North of the Borough gets improvements to the main trunk road (A12) and a brand new rail line (Crossrail) could this be anything to do with the number of Councillors/ MPs ? I wonder ?
I understand that this area is designated as Metropolitan Green belt land ?
This proposal will erode the green belt and have the effect of encouraging s urban sprawl.
What's the point of having Green Belt Areas if they can be ignored at will ?
Before long Chelmsford will be a borough of London !

I object of the plans to build hundreds of homes on the green belt and set up a travellers site there. We already keep getting lots of travellers coming through Basildon and each time they leave they decimate the area. Last year the Clean-up for the rubbish left at St Nicholas Church cost £7000! The local infrastructure is not ready to cope with the demand.

If you commute to London you'll know the C2C rail link is already running at max capacity and you're lucky to get a standing spot, yet alone a seat.

The Schools are overs subscribed and even families in the catchment are finding they can't get a school place for their children.

I understand the need for more homes but most of the new homes are bought (buy to let) by people who don't even live in the area pushing up house prices.
I urge you to consider my points and look at attentive areas.

Travellers race almost every Sunday along the A127. Meeting at halfway house and block the A127 with vehicles allowing the race to take place. I have witnesses this on a Sunday morning and 50-100 travellers have turned up to race. I am a Special Constable for the Essex police and I have seen numerous calls from the public complaining about this situation. Placing travellers in a location right next to the A127 will make this situation worse.
I am objecting to the idea of allocating traveller sites in the above stated locations. My objection is based upon the fact that travellers race almost every Sunday along the A127. They meet at the halfway house and then block the A127 with vehicles allowing the race to take place. I am aware of this as I have been caught out by visiting the starbucks on a Sunday morning at the halfway house and 50-100 travellers have turned up to race. I am also aware of this issue as I am a Special Constable for the Essex police and I have seen numerous calls from the public complaining about this situation.
I cannot see that placing travellers in a location right next to the A127 will do anything other than make this situation worse.
The corridor of the A127 from the M25 junction to Southend is already a heavily congested stretch of road and the congestion has already increased due to the completion of the Bellway houses built at the Dunton site.
To keep adding houses to an area, which is over populated, heavily congested with vehicles and already faces public order issues with travellers is frankly madness.
