Object to criteria (a) there are other types of developments, such as showmen's plots or travellers pitches, which may also be suitable to be listed in the policy. Furthermore PPTS clearly indicates that the Council should attach weight to, among other things, the effective use of previously developed land in considering applications for plots and pitches, which may also be located within the Green Belt. Coupled with the NPPF which indicates LPAs should plan to use derelict land positively, but does not specify or restrict it to specific uses such as housing.
As such, we request that the policy be changed to allow for all suitable uses to be encouraged in the Green Belt. The Green Belt at Chequers Road which would be suitable for redevelopment as a showmen's yard, and respectfully request its allocations for such in Policy 7.10 in accordance with Policy 9.11.
