We, the Essex Playing Fields Association, are writing to object to the plans to build on the playing field, sited in Priests Lane (reference 044,178) as we feel that this will be yet another loss of a valuable playing field in the area.
We have received a great deal of correspondence from local residents in regards to this play area, all objecting to it being used for development.
As you are aware, we have enough unfit children and adults in the country and therefore removing such play areas can only add to the problem. Once a playing field is lost to development, it's gone forever.
We hope the council will seriously consider leaving this site as a playing field for future generations to enjoy.
