Legally compliant? Not specified
Sound? No
Existing flooding within Blackmore and surrounding area.
LDP is not sound by not being inclusive of existing and future flooding issues in the area and the impact a development of any size will have on increasing this threat and frequency. The release of two greenfield sites for building development is not sound. As they are important to provide a soak away buffer protecting the village from run off from higher land, which is the source of the River Wid. The robustness of the Sustainability Appraisal is questionable. As it did not specifically relate to the situation in Blackmore. With the impact of climate change the future of increased flooding in the area is a very real possibility. Which would be exacerbates by this development.
