Representation Summary:

Ingatestone is a village, it was always intended to be a village, and not become a linear town connecting Brentwood through to Chelmsford, making it a 'ribbon development' on the A12 corridor!

Respondent: Mrs Christine Parker

Representation Summary:

Overall you the planner are gradually turning this village into a town, which I strongly object to. The plan makes no comment on developing support services ie. schools, dentists, doctors etc which are already operating at full capacity.
Using every green or unused piece of land means that the wild life we see now will be gone. On top of this the places for parking are shrinking eg the back of the Crown where people park to go to the Post Office + where the URC Nursery.

It seems nobody even thinks of the consequences of all the building.

Representation Summary:

42 New homes will have an adverse effect and employment land adjoining will make it worse. Traffic and traffic safety will get worse. Where will access be? A12 isnt suitable for access. The employment use could bring lorries or a fast food outlet which would mean more congestion, noise and litter.
Roman Road is used when the A12 is busy or diverted, concerned congestion will get worse.

We live in Rye
Walk which is near the new proposed houses adjacent to Roman Road,
Ingatestone.
These proposed 42 houses will have an adverse effect on
this end of the village and the possible 'employment land development'
nearby will make the situation far,far worse. We do not know what form
the 'employment land' might take, but add the traffic from that large
area to that from the 42 homes and there will be major traffic
congestion, especially at school run times.
There are sometimes
accidents at the junction of Roman Road and the B1002 now. The line of
sight isn't good and cars drive too fast, whatever the posted speed
limit.
Where will the cars/vans/lorries enter and leave from these two
sites? The two adjacent roads are not suitable to take the amount of
traffic generated and it doesn't seem at all possible to use the A12.
In the past the slip road has been found to be unsuitable for entry or
egress of traffic. Vehicles leave the A12 at 70mph or more and only
slow to turn into Roman Rd. This junction in itself is dangerous as it
is not easy to see traffic approaching from either the left or right.
We would object strongly to the 'employment land' being for industrial
use that would involve large lorries or to include fast food outlets
which generate quick in and out use of the site and more congestion,
noise and litter.
Please bear in mind that when there is problem with
the A12 traffic is either diverted along Roman Road or if the A12 is
very busy vehicles chose to use it as a quicker route. We know not to
use the A12 before 9.30am as it is so busy. Sometimes now it is not
easy for us to leave our road and get onto Roman Road when there is a
problem/accident on the A12 or cars are exiting it try and avoid a long
hold up.
Please reconsider developing these two sites.
