I strongly believe the Green Belt site of 'Sow & Grow Nursery' site in Pilgrims Hatch should be protected and retained. The businesses on this plot and the allotments behind them are a treasured facility for local and visitors alike. As a Pilgrims Hatch resident of eight years I am very strongly for protecting the rural aspect of pilgrims Hatch "Village!"

Lets keep the Green Belt apart from the Ongar Road heavy traffic is bad, also living at the above address it is very hard to gain entry to ones drive being as the traffic there is also heavy coming from the top and bottom and what about all amount of people that will need a GP etc, we have already seen the extra amount at Highwood Hosp. Please think again about using the Green Belt an such a dangerous road

Pilgrims Hatch is a rural area. Not only the building of many houses in one location spoil this, it will cause congestion once the development is built with additional car traffic, it would also mean the loss of valued local amenities. Local residents will need to travel by car for these amenities, adding more pressure on local roads.

Object to new homes on the Sow & Grow Nursery site, Ongar Road
Apart from the info from your leaflet it is areas like these that give Pilgrims Hatch its rural aspect, the reason that most people choose to live here in the first place. We are not Brentwood. The Ongar Rd certainly does not need any more traffic. Parts of Pilgrims Hatch have already been built on we do not need any more.

Object to 48 homes planned for Sow and Grow Nursery Site, Ongar Road for the following reasons:
- The area is already over stretched for parking.
- The Ongar Road is so congested.
- Further traffic feeding into this road will make it an increasingly unpleasant experience for people needing to travel into Brentwood town centre and will be a factor against living in Pilgrims Hatch.
- To bring a further development off the Ongar Road and into the Hatch would destroy the "village" characteristic of this wonderful area.

Object to 48 homes planned for Sow and Grow Nursery Site, Ongar Road.
The area is already over stretched for parking. The Larchwood Gardens Residential Care Home and Little Treasurers Nursery on the Ongar Road mean cars are parked round this area all day making it difficult to turn into Larchwood Gardens from Broomwood Gardens and out onto the Ongar Rd.

The Ongar Road is so congested. I usually walk into town (nearly 1 1/2 miles) as it is quicker. Further traffic feeding into this road will make it an increasingly unpleasant experience for people needing to travel into Brentwood town centre and will be a factor against living in Pilgrims Hatch.

Already the Highwood Gardens Site has been developed for housing making a huge disruption, for many months, and now increased traffic on the Ongar Road. To bring a further development off the Ongar Road and into the Hatch would destroy the "village" characteristic of this wonderful area.

Do not believe the green belt restrictions should be lifted in this case.
Believe the allotment sites at the rear of the buildings should be retained.
Believe any additional housing will put pressure on the already severly tested sewarge system and water supply.
Additional traffic and car parking requirements will add to congestion at Wilson's Corner and Sandit Pit Lane junctions.

Representation Summary:

The proposal to build 48 new houses on the Sow & Grow site on Ongar Road will put undue pressure on the already stretch drainage on this part of the road. The drains cannot cope with any heavy rainfall already so an extra 48 houses will exacerbate the situation.
Traffic movement along Ongar Road is already very heavy, particularly driving early morning and evening rush hour and any additional vehicles are likely to clog the system.

In addition, traffic movement along Ongar Road is already very heavy, particularly driving early morning and evening rush hour and any additional vehicles are likely to clog the system. We already suffer huge tailbacks and delays regularly especially when there is any problem at junction 28 of the M25 which is fairly frequent. The proposal would make a difficult situation impossible!!

Object to new housing at Sow & Grow Nursery because:
- Lack of infrastructure.
- Housing problems can be approached by encouraging multi-generation occupancy and allowing household extensions/granny-annexes to make it easier. This would also solve social issues with ageing population.
- Housing should only be on one side of Ongar Road in this location.
- Development will change Pilgrims Hatch and merge it with Brentwood.

Full text:

I strongly object to 48 new homes being built on the Sow and Grow nursery sight.

There is barely enough infrastructure to serve existing local residents.

The are other ways to approach housing problems including the encouraging of multi generation occupancy. This can be achieved by making planning and costs for house extensions to build granny-annexes or young people's annexes easier.

My own property was once the location of Brentwood Football Club however on reflection it would be right to keep housing developments to one side of the Ongar Road only.

This would also help to solve some social issues with the increasing ageing population and the difficulties younger people have getting on the housing ladder or being able to afford to rent a property.

Not that I am against progress, but changing the face of Pilgrims Hatch will merge into Brentwood becoming one large boring housing estate with the associated social problems - and who knows - it may become, horrifyingly, the next London Borough.

Why are we continuously ploughing down green environment friendly areas in favour of more bricks and houses?! Surely we should be looking after what little green land we have. I regularly use the nursery to help keep my garden happy and healthy.

We need to look after places such as this site and encourage people to look after places such as this site and encourage people to look after the earth, not mow it down for more houses in an already over populated area. Once it's gone, it's gone for good. Please don't do it

Representation Summary:

- Many of the residents here are retired and would not wish to live with chaos caused by the construction of these homes.
- Extra traffic would be created making already busy roads much worse.
- There are other issues which seem not to have been considered, e.g. the strain on the sewerage system, water supply, parking for more vehicles and access for Emergency Services, this being of great concern to residents.
- Devastating effect on the wildlife.
- Sow and Grow Nursery is a helpful, friendly family business is good for community and would be greatly missed.

Full text:

My late husband and I came to live in Ash Close approx. 5 half years ago. Our choice of location was confined to Orchard Lane and its 3 adjoining closes because of the adjacent Green Belt land. The idea of this being sacrificed in order for 19 new homes to be built is deplorable. Many of the residents here (including myself) are retired and would not wish to live with not only the chaos caused by the construction of these homes, but also the extra traffic which would be created thereby making already busy roads much worse. In addition to this there are other issues which seem not to have been considered, e.g. the strain on the sewerage system, water supply, parking for yet more vehicles and access for Emergency Services, this being of great concern to residents of all ages. This project would most certainly have a devastating effect on the wildlife which at present so many of us here are fortunate enough to enjoy.
I am opposed to the idea of the 48 homes being built on the Sow and Grow Nursery site for many of the reason mentioned previously. In addition to this I feel this helpful, friendly family business is good for the community and would be greatly missed by many people. I certainly would be one of these.
I am aware that there is a need to extra housing in the Borough, but feel there are more suitable alternatives to the sites which have been proposed.

There are too many homes being built in the area, roads and infrastructure cannot cope. The nursery and fencing company are an asset to the area.

It would be nice to keep Pilgrims Hatch as a more rural part of Brentwood.
